Results – Round 1 2012 Tx State Trials Championship

Hi Everyone,

Well, it was a wet one today at Emma Long Municipal Park in Austin for Round 1 of the 2012 Texas State Trials Championship… Yet, almost 80 riders braved the cool and very, very wet conditions.

Results for Round 1 – Revised (again…)

Corrections: 2 riders (Jim Byrne & Tom Batchelor) finished, both were erroneously marked as a DNFs and 10 points were added to their scores for missing the last section and one 4pt section (Don Hubbard’s 2nd ride on section 7) was verified to have in fact been a 3…

Sorry, but data entry errors will happen…

Revised again as I counted the number of cleans on the wrong row… FWIW, the spreadsheet we use to score has been updated to automatically count tie breakers, this should reduce the errors to near zero…

Tomorrow should be beautiful weather for trials. See y’all there!

Emma Long Municipal Park, Austin, TX

The CTTA is very fortunate to have an Austin City Park to ride in. There is about 7 miles of hard trail at City Park, but, it also offers numerous creeks with limestone ledges and caliche ball bearings… terrain that is ideal for trials. The CTTA has been hosting Local and State Championship Trials events at “City Park” for more than 30 years.

Results – Round #5 – CTTA Summer Series 2011

November 12, 2011

We had another great turnout with 41 riders at Joe Miller’s in Jonestown! A BIG thanks to Joe for having us out to play on his beautiful property! BJ set 5 fun and interesting gate trial sections for our riding enjoyment – thanks BJ!

Results are here. There are two files – in one the scores are shown by class and by overall position, which ignores class.

Hope to see another great turnout at the final round on December 10th. This event will be a toy drive – your entry fee will be a toy – more info will posted soon.

Thanks again to Joe and BJ! It was a great day for playing on the trials bike.

Results – Round #4 – CTTA Summer Series 2011

October 22, 2011

Click here for Results for Round 4 of the CTTA’s Summer Series at the Harvest Classic Rally. We had a RECORD turnout with 67 riders in attendance! I hope everyone enjoyed playing in the creeks and on the man-made section next to the bike show. We had hundreds of cheering spectators watching us ride – it was pretty cool.

We have lots of folks to thank!

To all of our judges – Susan Glasscock, Julie Reece, Brenda Brannon, Sidney Miller, Molly McDonald, Cindy Hubbard and John Armour – THANK YOU!

Glen Roblin, Caleb Mizell and Josiah Mizell put on a show of riding skill for everyone’s enjoyment – THANKS guys!

To EVERYONE that helped put-up or tear-down the sections – THANK YOU! Many hands made quick work of what is a major chore. It takes a club to put on an event like the Charity Challenge at the Harvest Classic Rally .

Lastly, I want to thank all of the competitors – y’all donated generously to the Candlelighter’s Childhood Cancer Foundation! The Charity Challenge raised about $2,400.00 to assist families that are struggling with childhood cancer! And that figure does not include the amount that trials riders contributed via the rally entry – I’m guessing that the CTTA Trials contribution was in excess of $4,500.00 at this year’s rally and that number does not include the $1,500.00 donation that the CTTA made to the Candlelighter’s after the National!

I hope to see everyone at the event at Joe’s in just 3 weeks! I’m sure that BJ will lay out some very fun sections on Joe’s little slice of trials heaven! A flyer will follow – soon.

Thanks all,

Results – Round #3 – CTTA Summer Series 2011

October 1, 2011

It was a wonderful day for trials at the McMahan’s ranch in Smithville! A BIG Thanks to George and Wayne McMahan for having us out at their ranch! The sections were fun, yet challenging and even the weather was cooperative. We had another great turnout with 49 riders. The results are here.

It was great to see old friends and many new faces – we hope to see all of you at Round 4!

Round 4 is in conjunction with the Harvest Classic Rally in Luckenbach. This is an event that you do not want to miss. In addition to the trials event, there’ll be many other fun activities: a vintage and European bike show, a raffle where you could win a really cool bike, BBQ dinner and the World Premier of a really, really cool movie on the Alamo Drafthouse’s Rolling Roadshow Drive-In movie screen!

Register for the rally online at www.harvestclassic.org – you have to register online to get a t-shirt and a ticket to the BBQ dinner. Your entry to the Charity Challenge Trials (Round 4) is your donation to the Candlelighters Childhood Cancer Foundation. Ask your family, friends, co-workers and employeer to match your contribution! Donate generously!

Hope to see you there!
